What data we process
- Technical connection data. When you visit, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser and the page requested, to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
- Usage data, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records, under a pseudonym, the pages you view, your device and approximate location, and Microsoft Clarity records clicks, scrolling and session recordings with typed text masked.
- Your location, never. The map's “Use my location” button asks your browser for permission and calculates the eclipse on your own device: your location is not sent to our servers.
- Email. If you write to us, we process your address and message to reply.
We have no sign-up forms, we do not sell data and we do not build advertising profiles.
Purposes and legal basis
- Serving and protecting the site: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Analytics and design improvements: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 22(2) LSSI-CE), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Replying to your messages: your consent when writing to us and our legitimate interest in answering.
Who we share data with
Service providers acting as processors: Netlify, Inc. (hosting), Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Clarity). Some may process data in the United States; these companies participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and offer the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
When you click a link to Amazon or Booking.com, you leave our site and those companies process your data as controllers under their own policies.
How long we keep data
Hosting logs: as long as the provider keeps them for security. Google Analytics data: 14 months. Microsoft Clarity data: up to 13 months (recordings, 30 days). Emails: for the duration of the conversation and afterwards only as long as needed for possible liabilities.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@totaleclipsemap.com. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the authority in your country.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly process their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version here with its date.
